This was a great tutorial and really explained it well and in great detail.

Most people need to keep in mind, the Gradient Mesh tool is not easy for someone new to illustrator. There's some long time AI users who may still not know how to use the mesh tool very well for stuff like this.

If you're just out to have fun, mess with it. When in doubt, save in versions constantly.

This is a good tutorial, but with being completely new and totally clueless on illustrator (and hopeless xD) i still found this tutorial slightly hard, I'm not sure if it's just me but i think i needed it dumbed down as looking at how all the finished outlines should look like is extremely daunting.
